OSTEOARTHRITIS IN DOGS AND CATS

OSTEOARTHRITIS IN DOGS AND CATS

Osteoarthritis is not a degenerative disease that only affects humans. Dogs and cats can also suffer from joint pain!  The risk factors for developing osteoarthritis are virtually the same for humans and pets:

Age: as dogs and cats get older, they can have difficulty walking, struggle to stand and feel the effect of time on their joints.

Obesity: as with humans, maintaining a healthy weight in your pets can make a significant difference to their joints. When a pet is obese, it carries more weight on its joints. Moreover, when your pet suffers, it moves less, so it is much more likely to become overweight. It is important to monitor the diet and weight of your faithful friend and provide a good dose of daily physical activity based on their abilities.

Heredity: hip, shoulder or elbow dysplasia is a condition that affects dogs and cats. This disease usually affects large-breed dogs such as Labrador, Golden Retriever or Rottweiler.

My dog has some difficulty walking… can I give him Genacol’s AminoLock® Collagen?

Absolutely! You can give your dog or cat Genacol® Original Formula, which contains only AminoLock® Collagen as the active ingredient! The benefits of AminoLock® Collagen in cartilage and joint discomfort are the same for humans and pets. Collagen will help regenerate the articular cartilage and relieve your pet’s pain. Many owners of pets suffering from joint pain reported that their pet’s condition was greatly improved after giving them Genacol’s AminoLock® Collagen.

What is the recommended dosage of Genacol® Original Formula for my pet?

For an animal weighing less than 32 kg (70 lbs), give one capsule daily. For each additional 32 kg (70 lb), add one capsule. For best results, open and empty the capsule and give the collagen powder to your pet between meals (empty stomach). Just put the powder on a dry and clean surface, most animals are fond of it!

You can also mix the powder with a small amount of food. Although an overdose of collagen is unlikely, always follow dosage recommendations.

If you have any concerns about your pet’s health, it is strongly recommended to consult your veterinary to ensure your pet’s well-being.
